HP Responds with OVSD 4.5 support extension



HP Announces Service Desk 4.5 Support
Extension To 31 December, 2012


Difficult global economic conditions over the past year have forced IT departments to cut back and drive additional value from existing solutions.  Accordingly many HP Service Desk 4.5 customers have indicated their intention to continue to work with and build on ther previous investments in HP Service Desk 4.5 which has proven to be a robust and stable platform to support ITSM over most of the past decade. HP have listened to market requests and  announced an extension of the OVSD 4.5 end of support date by two years, from December 31, 2010 to December 31, 2012.  

Letters advising customers of this HP Service Desk support extension were due for distribution at the beginning of December 2009.



Additional OVSD Licenses Now Available
For Purchase Until June 30, 2011.


The deadline for buying additional HP OVSD licenses has also been extended until June 30, 2011. HP refer to the purchasing of additional licenses by existing OVSD customers as "capacity upgrade sales" and this only applies to existing HP Service Desk customers - The offering for new customers is still HP Service Manager only.
