Penetration Testing (also known as Ethical Hacking) includes the ethical use of hacker techniques as well as commercial and open source testing tools to try and expose security vulnerabilties in an application for the purpose of educating the application owner about the security risks associated with that application.
Nobel offers both manual and automated penetration testing and vulnerability assessments as well as combinations of the two. Often the choice of an automated vulnerability scan or more exhaustive manual penetration
testing comes down to the criticality of the application at risk, as
after all this is about risk minimization within the constraints of one's budget.
